Ipsos, one of the world’s leading market research companies, has announced the appointment of Suresh Ramalingam as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for India, with immediate effect. He takes over from Amit Adarkar, who led Ipsos India for nearly a decade and is now stepping down to pursue new ventures, including writing. His first book, Non-Linear, has already been published.
Reflecting on his tenure, Adarkar said, “It has been a rewarding experience leading one of Ipsos’ top global markets. I’m confident the team will reach new heights under Suresh’s leadership.”
Suresh Ramalingam brings deep industry expertise, having most recently served as Chief Client Officer for APEC at Ipsos, where he managed client strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. Since joining Ipsos in 2018, he has also served as CEO for Southeast Asia, successfully leading operations in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Before Ipsos, Suresh spent over 20 years at Nielsen (NIQ), working in leadership roles across multiple continents including South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. His international experience and deep understanding of emerging markets are expected to be key assets in his new role.
Speaking about his new position, Ramalingam said, “India is a critical growth market for Ipsos. My goal is to strengthen our innovation, deepen client relationships, and build a strong, collaborative culture. We have exciting new offerings lined up that will help our clients thrive in a fast-changing market.”
Hamish Munro, CEO of Ipsos APEC, added, “Suresh is a results-driven leader who has excelled in complex markets. We’re confident that Ipsos India will grow even stronger under his leadership.”
Ramalingam is known for his inspiring leadership style and dedication to talent development, making him well-suited to take Ipsos India forward into its next phase of growth.
