The Government of India has upgraded the post of Ms. Sweta Satya to Director in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. A senior officer of the Indian Economic Service (IES) belonging to the 2012 batch, her promotion reflects the department’s move to strengthen its economic policy and planning wing. In her new capacity, she will play a more central role in analyzing agricultural data, coordinating farmer welfare schemes, and providing fiscal oversight for departmental initiatives during the 2026-27 planning cycle.
