‘Titan of the Year 2026’: Gukesh D Honoured with Limited-Edition Timepiece

MUMBAI (Feb 9, 2026) – Titan Watches has officially named Grandmaster Gukesh Dommaraju as the ‘Titan of the Year 2026’. The honour recognizes Gukesh’s historic achievement as the youngest-ever undisputed World Chess Champion, a title he secured at the age of 18.

To commemorate this milestone, Titan unveiled the Titan Grandmaster X Gukesh Dommaraju Special Edition, a luxury automatic watch that integrates the art of chess into high-end horology.

A Masterpiece in Design: The Gukesh Edition

The timepiece is designed to reflect the strategic depth and composure of a World Champion. Only 500 individually numbered pieces have been produced.

• The Dial: Features an intricate stone marquetry dial crafted from Tiger Eye and Black Agate, creating a textured geometry that mimics a chessboard.

• Chess-Inspired Indices: The hour markers follow the hierarchy of the game—the Queen sits at 12 o’clock, the Rook at 9, the Bishop at 3, and the King at 6, with pawns representing the remaining hours.

• The Movement: Powered by Titan’s in-house 7A20 automatic movement, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. The rotor is engraved with a Knight motif and the inscription: “Youngest World Chess Champion at 18.”

• Signature Details: The seconds hand features a Knight counterpoise (Gukesh’s favorite piece), and the watch is paired with a premium black Italian leather strap and a rose-gold finished stainless steel case.
