NEW DELHI (Feb 24, 2026) — Excitel Broadband has announced the elevation of Varun Pasricha to Chief Executive Officer, effective March 2026. Pasricha, who has served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2018, will succeed co-founder Vivek Raina.
Leadership Transition
-
The New Mandate: As CEO, Pasricha is tasked with scaling Excitel’s fiber infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and accelerating customer acquisition across India.
-
Outgoing CEO: Vivek Raina, who led the company for over a decade, is stepping down to explore new challenges but will remain a shareholder. Under his tenure, the network grew to serve nearly one million users across 50+ cities.
-
Founder’s Vision: Co-founder Nikolai Gorchilov emphasized that the next phase of growth will focus on making Excitel a “loved brand” by centering operations around customer service and its unique partner-led model.
Pasricha’s Track Record
With over 15 years of leadership experience, Pasricha has been the operational backbone of Excitel for the last eight years:
-
Operational Excellence: Led network rollouts, city expansions, and partner management strategies.
-
Diverse Background: Before Excitel, he held strategy and growth roles at Zomato, Indus Towers, and Max Healthcare.
Strategic Outlook
Excitel continues to rely on its “partner-driven” expansion model, collaborating with local cable operators to provide affordable FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) services. Pasricha’s appointment signals a shift toward disciplined, large-scale execution as the company targets its next million subscribers.
