FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) has appointed Iyoti Deshpande, CEO of Viacom18 Media, as the Co-Chair of its Media and Entertainment Board.
This marks a historic first, as Deshpande becomes the first woman executive from the media industry to serve as an office bearer in this influential FICCI vertical.
Expressing her gratitude, Deshpande stated:
> “I feel truly fortunate to be part of an industry that is at the cusp of phenomenal growth… from traditional theatres to the metaverse. The media and entertainment industry truly embodies the ‘Make in India and Show the World’ mantra.”
She also thanked Sanjiv Mehta and FICCI for the opportunity to contribute toward shaping the future of an industry she’s deeply passionate about.
