Vivek Kumar Gupta, a distinguished 1988-batch Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer, has been elevated to the position of Member (Infrastructure) at the Railway Board. Prior to this high-profile appointment, he was serving as the General Manager (GM) of Western Railway, where he was credited with overseeing major infrastructure upgrades and operational efficiencies. In his new role, Gupta will be the nodal authority for all civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the national transporter, playing a central role in the execution of the PM Gati Shakti master plan and the transformation of Indian Railways into a world-class network.
