Conclusion of Previous Legal Proceedings
The wedding follows the official conclusion of Omar Abdullah’s multi-year matrimonial litigation.
In late July, the Supreme Court of India formally dissolved his previous marriage to Payal Abdullah by mutual consent under Article 142 of the Constitution. Representing Abdullah, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal informed a bench comprising Justice P.S. Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe that the estranged couple had resolved all outstanding disputes through mediation, agreeing to withdraw all pending cross-cases.
