NEW DELHI — Punjabi musician and actor Diljit Dosanjh addressed previous public criticism surrounding his political neutrality remarks during a concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
Addressing the audience between performances, the artist made an indirect reference to prior online exchanges over his stance on social and political demonstrations. While reaffirming his commitment to his identity as a performer, Dosanjh emphasized solidarity with his broader audience and invoked regional pride to address ongoing public commentary. The concert concluded with visual stage projections displaying statements reinforcing his identity as an artist alongside broader cultural references.
Following the event, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke released a statement seeking to de-escalate the public exchange. Acknowledging that earlier remarks regarding artist involvement in public protests had led to a misunderstanding, Dipke expressed continued respect for Dosanjh’s cultural contributions and requested that both parties put the disagreement aside.
