The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Thiru Visvanathan Srinivasan, currently the General Manager at the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems (DPSS) in RBI Chennai, as an Additional Director on the board of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB). Appointed under Section 36AB of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, his two-year term begins today, December 20, 2025, and concludes on December 19, 2027. He succeeds Thiru Thomas Mathew, a retired Principal Chief General Manager of the RBI, as a nominee director.
