NEW DELHI — The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a one-year tenure extension for senior bureaucrat Smita Srivastava as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
Srivastava, a 1997-batch Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer, has served in the department since 2018. The extension spans from July 29, 2026, to July 29, 2027, and continues the temporary post-upgradation to Joint Secretary rank.
