GUWAHATI — The Assam Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has approved the implementation framework for a massive ₹50,000-crore capital investment package. Titled “Viksit Assam: Infra Vision,” the seven-year development roadmap (2027–2034) will fund state-wide upgrades across education, healthcare, public facilities, and rural infrastructure.
Key Highlights of the Infrastructure & Welfare Package

Financing & Institutional Support: The state government will mobilize ₹30,000 crore through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NABARD, while the remaining ₹20,000 crore will be funded directly from Assam’s expanded revenue collections and central schemes.

Education & Child Care Upgrades: Approximately ₹700 crore has been earmarked to modernize nearly 1,000 high schools across the state. Additionally, the plan includes constructing 6,000 new Anganwadi centers to upgrade early childhood and maternal healthcare facilities.

Women-Focused Commerce: Establishing two women-led markets in every Assembly constituency.

Sports & Civic Amenities: Constructing an auditorium and a stadium in every Assembly constituency, supplemented by larger district-level stadiums.
