HO CHI MINH CITY: Global marketing and advertising network dentsu has announced the appointment of veteran media executive Amit Thakur as the new Chief Executive Officer – Media for dentsu Vietnam, strengthening its leadership team in Southeast Asia.
Thakur transitions into the role after a successful stint as Managing Partner at WPP Media. Formally announcing the move on LinkedIn, Thakur revealed that he has been quietly integrating into the position for the past three months. Reflecting on his initial phase at the helm, he shared, “The past few months have been a period of deep learning—immersing myself and working alongside an energized team, and partnering with clients who are helping shape the future of marketing and growth in this market.”
With a career spanning over two decades, Thakur brings extensive multi-market experience across India and Southeast Asia. He has built a reputation for scaling brands and driving business growth, backed by prior senior leadership positions at major global conglomerates and agencies, including Unilever, Nestlé, Kimberly-Clark, the Tata Group, and Mindshare.
In his new capacity at dentsu Vietnam, Thakur will be tasked with spearheading media strategy, fostering innovation, and driving transformative marketing solutions for clients in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-evolving digital economies.
