Sanjeev Khirwar, a 1994-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) with immediate effect. The appointment was formalized through a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday. Khirwar, who has previously held senior positions in the Delhi government and the central administration, takes over the top civic post at a crucial time as the corporation focuses on enhancing urban infrastructure, waste management, and financial sustainability across the national capital.
