The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has extended the tenure of Shri M Ramachandrudu as the Director of Census Operations (DCO) for an additional period of three months. A 2009-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, M Ramachandrudu has been spearheading the census activities in his assigned jurisdiction. This extension ensures continuity in the specialized and time-sensitive tasks associated with the national census and the updation of the National Population Register (NPR), which are critical for national planning and resource allocation in 2026.
