Ghanshyam Das Gupta, currently serving as the Executive Director (ED) at Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), has been picked for the position of Director (Mining) within the same organization. The decision was finalized by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) during a meeting held on January 23, 2026. Out of a competitive pool of 11 candidates interviewed for the role, Gupta emerged as the preferred choice to lead the mining operations of India’s only vertically integrated copper producer.
