On the occasion of India’s 77th Republic Day (2026), Venkata Subba Reddy Chinnakondu, the Head of the Special Crimes (SC) Zone in New Delhi for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been conferred the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM). A 2007-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Chinnakondu is recognized for his disciplined service, professional dedication, and significant contributions to the investigation of high-profile special crimes. His tenure at the CBI has been marked by his ability to navigate complex interstate legalities and lead specialized units in the national capital.
