Amrit Lugun, a distinguished 1989-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has been empanelled for appointment as an Independent External Monitor (IEM). Lugun recently retired from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) after a high-profile tenure as the Ambassador (Grade I) of India to the Hellenic Republic (Greece). His transition from top-tier diplomacy to corporate and public sector oversight brings a global perspective to governance and transparency. As an IEM, he will now play a critical role in monitoring high-value government procurement and ensuring that the principles of the Integrity Pact are upheld across major public institutions.
