NEW DELHI (Feb 8, 2026) – In a concurrent move with the NSG chief’s promotion, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted the Apex Pay Scale to Ms. Sapna Tewari, the Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
Ms. Tewari is a 1992-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre. This promotion elevates her to Level 17 of the Pay Matrix, placing her in the highest salary bracket for the Indian Police Service.
