GUWAHATI (Feb 13, 2026) — Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch a massive developmental blitz in Assam this Saturday, February 14. With a focus on strategic defense assets and high-tech infrastructure, the PM will dedicate projects worth over ₹5,450 crore to the nation.

10:30 AM | Moran (Dibrugarh): Landing at the Northeast’s first Emergency Landing Facility (ELF). The PM will board a C-130 aircraft to touch down on this 4.2-km reinforced highway strip and witness a 20-minute IAF aerial display.

Major Project Highlights
1. Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu (₹3,030 Crore)
Named after the 7th-century Kamrupa king, this 6-lane bridge is the first extradosed bridge in the Northeast.

Efficiency: Cuts the Guwahati–North Guwahati commute from 1 hour to 7 minutes.

Safety: Uses friction pendulum bearings to handle the region’s intense seismic activity.
2. National Data Centre (Amingaon)
An 8.5 MW state-of-the-art facility designed to be the digital heart of the Northeast. It will host critical government applications and act as a Disaster Recovery site for national data.
3. IIM Guwahati (Bongora)
The PM will inaugurate the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management, completing the state’s “education trifecta” alongside IIT and AIIMS.
4. Green Mobility: PM-eBus Sewa
The PM will flag off 225 electric buses across India, with 100 units dedicated specifically to Guwahati to combat urban pollution and modernize public transit.
