NEW DELHI – In a significant move to bolster India’s footprint in global peacekeeping, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially nominated five high-ranking Indian Police Service (IPS) officers for two elite “Team Leader” positions within the United Nations Police Department (UNPD).
The nominations are part of the Standing Police Capacity (SPC) Recruitment Campaign 2025, based at the UN Global Service Centre (UNGSC) in Brindisi, Italy. These P-5 level posts are highly competitive, requiring seasoned strategic leadership to assist UN peace operations worldwide.
The Nominees
The selected officers represent a cross-section of India’s premier security and research organizations:

Nitasha Guria, IPS (Bihar, 2008): Currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), New Delhi.

Manish Singh: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

S. Hari Prasath, IPS (Bihar, 2010): Currently DIG at the National Security Guard (NSG), India’s elite counter-terrorism unit.

Dr. V. Sasi Mohan, IPS (Tamil Nadu, 2011): Currently serving as DIG within the Tamil Nadu cadre.

Sumapati Jamwal, IPS (Himachal Pradesh, 2011): DIG, Himachal Pradesh.
