NEW DELHI — BharatPe has announced the appointment of Himanshu Verma as the Head of its POS (Point-of-Sale) Business, effective March 19, 2026. The move signals the fintech firm’s aggressive push to expand its offline payments footprint and deepen merchant engagement across India.
The Strategic Mandate
In his new role, Verma will report directly to BharatPe CEO Nalin Negi. His primary objectives include:

Merchant Adoption: Driving the rollout of BharatPe’s all-in-one payment devices.

Network Expansion: Strengthening distribution channels to reach small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Tier II and III cities.

Ecosystem Scaling: Enhancing the company’s offline infrastructure, which currently processes over ₹27,000 crore in annual transaction value.
Proven Leadership in Fintech
Verma brings over 20 years of experience across digital payments, telecom, and consumer tech:

Pine Labs: Most recently served as Senior Director and National Business Head for the Soundbox (Mini) segment, where he led the product from incubation to nationwide scale.

Diverse Portfolio: His career includes leadership stints at Freecharge, Bharti Airtel, Samsung India, and Vodafone.

Expertise: He is recognized for his track record in UPI payments, merchant onboarding, and managing large-scale P&Ls.
