NOIDA – In a major leadership restructuring, the Times Group has announced the elevation of Navika Kumar to the role of Group Editor-in-Chief. Despite the expanded corporate responsibilities, Kumar will continue to anchor her signature 9 PM prime-time show on Times Now on weekdays.
The announcement, made via an internal note, highlights Kumar’s three-and-a-half-decade career and her pivotal role in the growth of both Times Now and the rapid ascent of Times Now Navbharat.
Key Expansion of Responsibilities
In her new capacity as Group Editor-in-Chief, Kumar’s mandate includes:

Editorial Mentorship: Advising and mentoring content creation and editorial teams across the Times Group’s diverse media portfolio.

New Media Ventures: Introducing a much-anticipated podcast series to expand the brand’s digital footprint.

Brand Leadership: Continuing as a face of “Brand Times Now” while steering newsrooms through high-stakes journalistic environments.
Reporting and Operations

Base of Operations: She will continue to operate out of the group’s Noida office.

Executive Reporting: Kumar will report directly to Mr. Vineet Jain (Managing Director) and Mr. N. Subramanian (Group CEO, The Times Group).
The note credited Kumar with building a culture of “sharp, impactful journalism” and acknowledged her significant contributions to the network’s leadership over the past twenty years. The move is seen as a strategic step to leverage her extensive industry experience to harmonize editorial standards across the group’s evolving platforms.
