BENGALURU – IT major Infosys has announced the appointment of Nitin Paranjpe as its Non-Executive Vice Chairman. The move, disclosed in a regulatory filing, brings one of India’s most seasoned global corporate leaders into a strategic advisory role at the firm.
Paranjpe will work closely with Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Board, to guide the company’s long-term strategic agenda and board governance.
Stability in Leadership
Addressing speculation regarding leadership changes, Chairman Nandan Nilekani clarified that his own role remains unchanged.
“I will continue as the chairman of the Board as long as necessary, and there is no plan for a chairman transition,” Nilekani stated, emphasizing that Paranjpe’s appointment is intended to strengthen the board’s oversight rather than initiate a succession.
A Career of Global Scale
Nitin Paranjpe joins Infosys with a nearly four-decade track record of leadership, primarily within the Unilever ecosystem:
-
Unilever Leadership: Served as Chief Transformation Officer and Chief People Officer (2022–2024) and previously as the Global Chief Operating Officer (COO).
-
Hindustan Unilever (HUL): Formerly served as the CEO and Managing Director of HUL, and later as its Non-Executive Chairman.
-
International Board Experience: Currently serves as the Non-Executive Vice Chairman of Heineken NV and is a Chief Mentor and Operating Partner at Advent International.
Strategic Role at Infosys
In his new capacity, Paranjpe is expected to leverage his expertise in digital transformation, global P&L management, and capability building to support Infosys as it navigates a rapidly evolving AI and tech landscape. His appointment adds a layer of deep operational and consumer-centric experience to the Infosys board, complementing the company’s focus on enterprise growth and organizational resilience.
