BHUBANESWAR — Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Vinaytosh Mishra has been appointed as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha, succeeding Y.B. Khurania, who demits office on August 16.
Mishra, a 1993-batch IPS officer, currently serves as the chief of the state Crime Branch. His appointment ensures a seamless transition in the top post of the Odisha Police force following the retirement of the incumbent DGP.
Known for his extensive experience in law enforcement and investigative oversight, Mishra takes charge of the state police apparatus at a critical juncture, with key responsibilities including strengthening regional security frameworks and maintaining public order across Odisha.
