NEW DELHI — The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a six-month extension for Brij Mohan Mishra, IAS (AGMUT: 2008), extending his tenure as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce beyond November 16, 2026.
The extension bridges the transition period until Mishra is formally relieved to assume his upcoming diplomatic assignment as Minister (Commercial) at the Embassy of India in Tokyo, Japan. In his future posting, the senior bureaucrat will oversee bilateral trade relations, investment facilitation, and commercial engagement between India and Japan.
