The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the elevation of Shri Vivek Chaturvedi, a 1990 batch IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer and currently a Member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), to the prestigious post of Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC); his appointment comes following the superannuation of the previous Chairman, Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, and two other senior Board members on November 28, 2025.
