Praveen Kumar, a 1993 batch IPS officer of the West Bengal cadre and the current Director General (DG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been assigned the additional charge of the post of Director General (DG), Border Security Force (BSF); he will assume the charge upon the superannuation of the incumbent DG, Daljit Singh Chaudhary (IPS: 1990: UP), on November 30, 2025, and will hold the position until the appointment of a regular DG or until further orders.
