In a significant move for the security administration of the Union Territory, Mr. Mukesh Singh, a distinguished 1996-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Ladakh. The appointment comes as Mr. Singh returns from a high-profile Central Deputation, where he served as an Additional Director in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). His extensive experience in counter-terrorism and sensitive border-state policing is expected to be vital in managing the strategic security landscape of Ladakh.
