In a transformative structural shift within the upper echelons of the Odisha Bureaucracy, the state government has announced a major reshuffle following Anu Garg’s historic appointment as the first woman Chief Secretary of Odisha. Senior IAS officer Deoranjan Kumar Singh has been elevated to the post of Development Commissioner, while Hemant Sharma has been entrusted with the critical Home Department. The reshuffle, effective from January 1, 2026, aims to integrate industrial advancement with strategic planning as the state works toward its “Viksit Odisha 2036” vision.
