Mr. Praneet Choudhary, an officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), has been appointed on deputation as Deputy Director General in the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Mumbai. Moving from his current posting in South Eastern Railway (SER), he will serve under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways for a tenure of five years. This strategic placement of a senior financial and accounts professional from the railways into the maritime sector is aimed at strengthening the administrative and financial oversight of India’s shipping industry and maritime regulations.
