Mr. Amit Mohan Mittal, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) [IRS-IT], has been officially relieved from his current duties to take up a new assignment as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Mumbai. This appointment is on a deputation basis under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. As the head of the vigilance wing at the country’s apex maritime regulator, Mr. Mittal will be responsible for ensuring transparency, integrity, and the prevention of malpractice within the organization’s administrative and regulatory functions.
