Mr. N. Venugopal, a distinguished 1995-batch IPS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP). Currently serving on central deputation, Mr. Venugopal’s promotion to the highest grade within the police hierarchy was formally cleared by the state government. This elevation recognizes his decades of service and leadership across both state and central security apparatuses. While he continues his current assignment at the center, his proforma promotion ensures he holds the apex rank within his parent cadre.
