In a significant elevation within the Indian judiciary, Justice Sujoy Paul, who was serving as a Judge of the Calcutta High Court, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. This appointment follows the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium and the subsequent approval by the President of India. Justice Paul, known for his extensive judicial experience and landmark judgments, will now lead one of India’s oldest and most prestigious high courts, overseeing its administrative and judicial functions during a period of ongoing legal reforms.
