In a significant promotion within India’s premier counter-terrorism agency, Mr. Rakesh Aggarwal, a 1994-batch IPS officer of the Himachal Pradesh (HP) cadre, has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Mr. Aggarwal, who was previously serving as the Special Director General (SDG) within the same agency, takes over the top post to lead the nation’s unified response to terror-related investigations.
