Mr. Sumit Sharan, a seasoned 1997-batch IPS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) on an in-situ basis. This appointment elevates Mr. Sharan to a critical leadership position within India’s primary border-guarding organization. Currently serving on central deputation, his “in-situ” promotion allows him to assume the rank and pay of an ADG while continuing his current responsibilities or transitioning into a higher strategic role within the force.
