NEW YORK: In a significant boardroom shakeup, Javier Campopiano has announced his decision to step down as the Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, Global Clients at Omnicom Advertising Group (OAG). He will officially vacate his role at the end of May.
Campopiano took on the high-profile global creative mantle just six months ago, following Omnicom’s mega-acquisition of the Interpublic Group (IPG) in December 2025.
“The Right Decision”
Confirming his departure via a detailed LinkedIn post, Campopiano stated that while leaving Omnicom at the end of the month was “not an easy” choice, it was ultimately “the right one.”
In his farewell message, the veteran creative leader reflected extensively on his previous three-year tenure at McCann Worldgroup and McCann. Hinting at his next career move, Campopiano shared that he intends to focus his energy “more intentionally on specific projects” and desires to work “even closer to the ideas.”
A Stellar Creative Pedigree
Campopiano is widely regarded as one of the most decorated and influential creative minds in global advertising. Prior to his stints at Omnicom and McCann, he built an illustrious career holding top-tier creative leadership positions at premier global networks, including Grey, OpenX, and Saatchi & Saatchi.
OAG has yet to announce a successor for his global clients portfolio.
