REDMOND, WA — Microsoft Corporation has announced a major executive transition, with Ryan Roslansky, Executive Vice President of Microsoft 365 and former LinkedIn CEO, set to leave the tech giant after nearly 18 years of service.
The departure was formally communicated to employees in an internal memorandum from Microsoft Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella.

Advisory Role: Roslansky will remain with Microsoft through the end of the calendar year as an advisor to Nadella to ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Sumit Chauhan and Lan Ye will now report directly to Charles Lamanna.

Dan Shapero continues in his role as CEO of LinkedIn, reporting directly to Satya Nadella.

Tenure & Executive Legacy
Roslansky joined LinkedIn prior to its acquisition by Microsoft and was elevated to CEO of LinkedIn in 2020, steering the professional networking platform through the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent remote-work shifts.
Over the past year, his executive mandate expanded to lead the Microsoft 365 suite, where he played a pivotal role in embedding generative artificial intelligence and driving the commercial deployment of Microsoft Copilot across enterprise productivity applications.
Expressing his gratitude in a statement to Nadella and the organization, Roslansky noted:
