SINGAPORE: In a significant leadership movement within the global tech ecosystem, Simon Green has stepped down from his role as President of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) at cybersecurity giant Palo Alto Networks to join AI-driven coding platform Cursor as its new regional President.
The high-profile appointment coincides with Cursor establishing its regional headquarters in Singapore to spearhead its expansion across the APJ region.
A Decade of Cybersecurity Leadership
Green brings an extensive enterprise track record to the AI startup, having spent 10 years steering Palo Alto Networks’ hyper-growth strategy across the Asia-Pacific and Japan markets. Prior to his decade-long tenure at the cybersecurity titan, Green held senior executive leadership positions at several prominent firms, including NetApp, Interactive, ProVision, and media conglomerate Austereo. He has also lent his expertise as a Non-Executive Director for listed entities.
Driving AI Expansion in Asia-Pacific
At Cursor, Green will be at the helm of regional growth strategy, sales execution, and aggressive hiring to catalyze the platform’s footprint in competitive enterprise markets.
Cursor’s AI-driven software development ecosystem is increasingly being adopted by commercial enterprises and public sector institutions to modernize legacy systems, optimize workflows, and accelerate software deployment cycles. Under Green’s leadership, the company aims to scale its go-to-market execution while navigating enterprise demands around compliance, security, and AI deployment at scale.
