On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day (2026), Chandrasekhar Venupillai, the current Head of the Delhi Zone for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been conferred the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM). A 2002-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Gujarat cadre, Venupillai is recognized for his long-standing commitment to professional excellence, integrity, and his pivotal role in leading high-stakes investigations. His leadership at the Delhi Zone—one of the CBI’s most critical operational units—has been instrumental in handling complex anti-corruption cases and economic offenses of national importance.
