NEW DELHI — In a key central administrative transition, Shri Prakash Rajpurohit, IAS (RJ:2010), has been formally appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The senior bureaucrat, who currently serves in the office of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, will step into his new regulatory role for a combined central tenure extending up to April 8, 2030. He succeeds Shri Sanjay Kumar, IAS (AGMUT:2008), as part of the broader administrative realignment approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
