In a strategic move to bolster the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Dr. Manoj Pant, a highly seasoned 1994-batch IAS officer (recently retired) of the West Bengal cadre, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Having served as the state’s Chief Secretary until his recent superannuation, Dr. Pant’s immediate transition into this advisory and administrative role ensures that the top leadership retains his deep institutional knowledge and expertise in fiscal management. He will now act as the primary bridge between the political executive and the state bureaucracy.
