NEW DELHI – Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made an unannounced visit to Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital on Thursday afternoon to personally assess the quality of healthcare services and the availability of medical staff.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister toured several departments, seeking direct feedback from patients regarding waiting times and the availability of essential medicines.
Key Directives for Summer Readiness
With temperatures rising in the capital, the CM issued immediate instructions to the hospital administration to ensure patient comfort:

Infrastructure: Guaranteed access to clean drinking water and functional cooling systems across all wards.

Hygiene: Strict orders to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Supply Chain: Instructions to ensure zero shortage of essential medicines and life-saving drugs.
Modernizing Delhi’s Healthcare
Interacting with doctors and nursing staff, Gupta emphasized the need to shift toward a more citizen-centric model. She called for the modernization of digital services to reduce registration queues and improve the speed of treatment.
“Our resolve is that every citizen of Delhi should experience a healthcare system that ensures timely treatment and modern facilities in a dignified manner,” the CM stated in a post on X.
The visit is part of a broader government push to make Delhi’s state-run hospitals more dependable and sensitive to the needs of common citizens, particularly as the city prepares for the peak summer heat.
