NEW DELHI — In a major top-level bureaucratic appointment within the scientific ministries, renowned oceanographer Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) cleared his induction for a fixed tenure of two years, bringing global environmental governance experience back to the central administration.
