Mr. Pankaj Joshi (IAS: 1989 batch), who previously served as the Chief Secretary of Gujarat (the highest administrative post in the state), has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC); this strategic appointment, effective immediately, places him at the helm of the autonomous body responsible for regulating the state’s electricity industry, including determining tariffs, licensing, and promoting efficiency.
