Mr. Abhishek Singh, a 2003-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and currently the High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, has been concurrently accredited as India’s next Ambassador to the Republic of Benin; while his primary residence remains in Abuja, Nigeria, this appointment—formally announced on December 17, 2025—expands his diplomatic mandate to strengthen India’s bilateral ties and economic cooperation with Benin.
