BILASPUR / MANALI — President Droupadi Murmu arrives in Himachal Pradesh today for a high-profile three-day official visit, highlighting a mix of medical education advancements and visits to major regional landmarks.
The head of state’s tour kicks off this morning in Bilaspur, where she will serve as the Chief Guest at the maiden convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bilaspur. Slated to reach the medical institution around 10:30 AM, President Murmu will confer degrees upon the institute’s premier batch of graduating medical professionals.
A strong contingent of political leaders will attend the convocation, including Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda.
Following the ceremony, the President will depart for Manali. Her schedule for October 7 includes a visit to the revered Hidimba Devi Temple followed by a tour of the engineering marvel Atal Tunnel in Rohtang.
In light of the VVIP arrival, security forces have established a comprehensive security network across Bilaspur and Kullu districts. Reinforced personnel units have been deployed around key transit routes, the AIIMS facility, and scheduled event destinations.
The President is expected to wrap up her engagements and fly back to Delhi on the morning of October 8.
