NEW DELHI (May 9, 2026): In a series of official orders issued today, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of four senior officers to pivotal positions across various central ministries. The notifications, signed by Annies Kanmani Joy, Director of the Department of Personnel & Training, outline several leadership changes in key sectors including ports, commerce, and textiles.
The following key appointments have been finalized:

Chennai Port Authority: Shri Kurve Sachin Shardchandra, IAS (UD:2003), has been appointed as Chairperson (JS level). He will serve for a period of five years, succeeding Shri Sunil Paliwal, IAS (TN:1993).

Visakhapatnam Port Authority: Shri Jasmeet Singh Bindra, IRTS (1997), has been designated as Chairperson (JS level). His five-year tenure begins upon assumption of charge, taking over from Shri M. Angamuthu, IAS (AM:2002).

Noida Special Economic Zone (SEZ): Shri Gopal Meena, IAS (BH:2007), has been appointed as Development Commissioner (JS level) under the Department of Commerce. He succeeds Shri A. Bipin Menon, ITS (1997), for a five-year term.

Office of the Jute Commissioner, Kolkata: Shri Dipankar Mahto, IP&TA&FS (1998), will take over as Jute Commissioner (JS level) under the Ministry of Textiles. His tenure is set until his date of superannuation on December 31, 2028, succeeding Shri Moloy Chandan Chakraborthy, IDAS (1993).
All four officers will receive pay at level 14 of the Pay Matrix, ranging from Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200. The orders are effective immediately from the date of assumption of charge of the respective posts.
