NEW DELHI — The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a two-year extension of central deputation for senior bureaucrat Rajesh Gupta, retaining him as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
An officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), Gupta will now serve in his current mandate at the MHA through April 15, 2028. Before taking up his leadership position within the Home Ministry, Gupta held a crucial senior policy role as Director at NITI Aayog. The tenure extension reflects ongoing administrative stability in handling core internal security, governance, and policy coordination verticals within the ministry.
