NEW DELHI – In a significant administrative overhaul, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered the immediate transfer and posting of seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territory) cadre.
The official order, issued on April 14, 2026, by Under Secretary Rakesh Kumar Singh, directs the relocation of these high-ranking officials from Delhi to several Union Territories and states across the country.
Key Transfers and Postings
The reshuffle impacts several key departments, with officers being moved to strategic locations including Jammu & Kashmir, Puducherry, and Chandigarh.
Implementation and Deadlines
The Ministry has specified that these orders are to take immediate effect. To ensure a smooth transition of administration, the MHA has mandated that all seven officers must be relieved of their current duties in Delhi within 15 days from the date the order was issued.
Copies of the directive have been forwarded to the Chief Secretaries of all relevant Union Territories, including the GNCTD (Delhi), Jammu & Kashmir, Mizoram, and Puducherry, to facilitate the joining process.
This move is seen as a routine yet impactful administrative rotation aimed at strengthening governance across the AGMUT cadre regions.
