NEW DELHI (Feb 8, 2026) – In a significant administrative move, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the grant of the Apex Pay Scale to B. Srinivasan, the Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG).
A 1992-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre, Srinivasan took charge of the elite “Black Cats” counter-terrorism force in August 2024. This promotion elevates his pay to Level 17 (₹2,25,000 fixed), the highest grade for IPS officers in India.
